by Guy Hiscott

More than €700 was raised for Mac Domhnaill Dental’s work for Chernobyl Children International at the 2016 Irish Dentistry Awards in January.

The practice’s charity work for the Chernobyl areas in Belarus was also chosen as the winner of Best Charity or Community Project on the night.

Dr Marcas Mac Domhnaill, dentist at Mac Domhnaill Dental, thanked attendees for their support, adding: ‘We are very grateful for the generosity and support of everyone on the night and the dental community for their continued support to the project over the years.’

According to the charity Facebook page, Dr Domhnaill and Mary Sugrue of Mac Domhnaill Dental have provided ‘vital dental care to well over 1,000 children affected by the Chernobyl fallout in Vesnova Children’s Mental Asylum.’

Creative Smiles Dental & Implant Centre was awarded Practice of the Year 2016, Most Improved Practice and Best Treatment of Nervous Patients at this year’s Irish Dentistry Awards.
