Disney bans smoking in its theme parks

by Siobhan Hiscott

Disney has banned smoking at Walt Disney World, Disney Land and water parks, it has been announced.

‘The removal of smoking areas is intended to provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits,’ Disney says.

The ban, which came into effect on 1 May and is being enforced by Disney employees, means that those who wish to vape or smoke will have to leave the park to smoke in designated areas. Visitors will be permitted to return to the park after.

The smoking ban also extends to Disney’s shopping districts, Downtown Disney in California and Disney Springs in Florida.

However, the smoking restrictions don’t apply to Disneyland Paris, which will have designated smoking areas within the park.
